The Hannover Fairgrounds (Messegelände), with a total footprint of one million square meters, is the largest trade fair site in Europe. The facility features original hall architecture -- some of which has won international awards -- as well as glass-covered walkways and passages between halls; pleasant recreational and relaxation areas, gardens and quiet zones; a state-of-the art Convention Center; and the International Forum Design showcase.

The fairgrounds is also home to more than 40 restaurants and bistros; bakeries; a bank; cash machines; flower, gift and souvenir shops; mini-supermarkets; pharmacies; and first-aid and police stations.

Optimum Accessibility
Getting to the fairgrounds by car is easy: access roads were designed to handle heavy traffic and highways of up to six lanes lead directly to the site. Public transit rail lines stop at the north and east entrances, and regional and national trains stop at the fairgrounds' Hannover Messe/
Laatzen station, which lies on the North-South rail axis that connects Hannover with Frankfurt and Hamburg.
One pedestrian skywalk (covered, moving walkway) connects the Hannover Messe/Laatzen station to the West 1 entrance; another connects the Ost 3 entrance to the parking lots at Halls 8 and 9. Suburban rail S5 provides a fast and convenient connection between Hannover Airport, the main train station, and the fairgrounds. Visit our Travel pages to learn more.
