ENERGY INDIA

Economic growth in India remains at around 9% per annum and the country is expected to remain one of the world's fastest growing economies for years to come. However, India's power supply sector is already struggling to meet current demand. There is a shortfall of 12% in energy supplies, and sustained economic growth will create a still greater demand for energy. For this reason industry and government have launched a concerted effort to invest in power plants and projects aimed at improving the nation's capacities in the generation, supply and distribution of electricity. There is also increasing interest in decentralized power generation and co-generation.
